Description
Loosing pressure in liquid fuelled stoves is often caused by a fuel cap that doesn’t close tight enough. When the pressure drops the stove usually stops working. Replacing the old stiff rubber will usually solve this problem and turns a not working stove into a working stove. The old rubber can be removed with a sharp object. Heating the rubber by holding the fuel cap in a flame might be helpful in removing the old rubber seal. Very often you’ll find that the old rubber was completely brittle instead of soft and elastic. No wonder that it didn’t provide a airtight closure.
Will fit on a variety of large stoves such as Primus No 1, Primus No 5 etc.
There are two types of these large fuel caps. One with a air vent screw on the side. And one with a air vent screw on top of the fuel cap. This last one needs a rubber seal with a hole in the middle. Also when there is a safety pressure release valve on top of the fuel cap you’ll need a rubber seal with a hole in the middle.
